N.Y. FX Outlook
N.Y. FX Outlook: The dollar was mostly higher overnight, largely driven by better incoming U.S. data of late, hawkish Fedspeak, and improved odds for a December rate hike. Friday's jobs report could go some way in firming up those expectations. EUR-USD is back under 1.1200, though maintains support above the 200-day moving average of 1.1166. USD-JPY topped at 103.76, just under the September 6 high of 103.80. Cable's modest rebound was short-lived, with that pairing falling to fresh 31-year lows of 1.2663. Today's calendar also features weekly jobless claims, which analysts expect will edge up to 257k from 254k previously. Markets will await Friday's nonfarm payroll report, likely leading to thin trading conditions through the session today.
