Apollo Global poised to buy Anglo American Australia assets, Bloomberg says

Apollo Global (APO) and Xcoal are set to acquire Anglo American's (NGLOY) metallurgical coal assets in Australia after beating bids from BHP Billiton (BHP) and other entities, reports Bloomberg, citing sources. The deal could value the assets at over $1.5B, and includes contingent value rights, the sources told Bloomberg. Reference Link

Apollo Global affiliates extend tender offer for Outerwall
Affiliates of certain funds managed by affiliates of Apollo Global (APO) and Outerwall (OUTR) agreed to extend the offering period of Apollo's previously announced cash tender offer to purchase all of the outstanding shares of common stock of Outerwall to 12:00 Midnight, NYC time, on September 22, unless further extended. As of 5:00 P.M., NYC time, on August 31, 4,834,209 shares of common stock of Outerwall were tendered pursuant to the tender offer, which represented approximately 28.1% of the outstanding shares of common stock of Outerwall.

Oppenheimer sees Rackspace deal in the low-to-mid $30s
Oppenheimer analyst Timothy Horan raised his price target for Rackspace (RAX) to $32 from $30 after The Wall Street Journal reported that the company was in advanced talks to sell itself to Apollo Global (APO) for $3.5B, or $27 per share. The analyst believes this is low and that a deal in the $32 area is more likely. Oppenheimer has an Outperform rating on Rackspace's shares.
