Engility wins $369M contract to modernize air traffic control system
Engility Holdings announced the U.S. Department of Transportation's Volpe National Transportation Systems Center has awarded a $369M contract to provide engineering and technical services as well as financial and program management supporting the modernization of this country's air traffic management system, known as NextGen. Under this contract, the Engility team will support the Federal Aviation Administration Air Traffic Organization's Program Management Office. This win broadens Engility's support to the PMO, which is the lynchpin for the FAA's acquisition and implementation of NextGen, as well as all communications, navigation, weather, surveillance and automation modernization programs. This five-year single award contract has a ceiling value of $369M. It is a fourth-quarter win representing a combination of new and existing work, which primarily will be performed as cost-plus-fixed-fee.
