U.S. chain store sales fell 1.8% in the week ended October 15
U.S. chain store sales fell 1.8% in the week ended October 15, according to The Retail Economist, following a 1.0% decline in the prior week. The annual pace of sales slowed to 1.1% y/y versus 1.5% y/y previously, and 2.9% y/y the week before that. "Abnormal weather events" were cited as the main factor behind the choppy performance.
