Syed expects revenue/margin momentum in Q3 to carry into Q4, given that the current US land rig count is 12% above the Q3 average, and continues to move higher, and recommends buying Nabors for earnings and beyond. Transocean upgraded to Buy at Canaccord
As reported previously, Canaccord analyst Alex Brooks upgraded Transocean to Buy from Hold. The analyst noted the company reported very strong Q3 results due to its cost cutting efforts. Brooks said the current valuation is not compelling and its debt load is heavy, but with expectations low the risk/reward is favorable. Brooks raised his price target to $11 from $9 on Transocean shares.

Weatherford selloff overdone, says Evercore ISI
Evercore ISI analyst James West said the selloff in Weatherford is overdone and a "good" buying opportunity. West said the selloff was mainly driven by reports forecasting covenant breaches and a potential equity raise. The analyst does not expect a covenant breach and said Weatherford published an 8-K to refute concerns and said it remains compliant. West never factored in a takeover of Weatherford but actually believes the company is a more attractive target today following the GE/Baker Hughes news.
