EnPro says COO Ken Walker to resign, company to eliminate COO role

EnPro disclosed in a regulatory filing: "In connection with a corporate evaluation of roles of executive officers of EnPro Industries going forward, on November 16, Kenneth Walker, the company's SVP and COO, formally notified the company of his decision to resign as an officer and employee. The company and Walker anticipate that he will remain as an employee of the company for a period to be agreed upon, and as a consultant for a period thereafter, to assist with the transition of his responsibilities, as the company will be eliminating the position of COO following Walker's departure. The company and Walker have not yet finalized the terms of an agreement to address this transition or his departure."

Oppenheimer analyst Ian Zaffino remains a buyer of EnPro following a "surprisingly" weak quarter. While the demand forecast remains uncertain, the analyst believes new product development and cost cutting may provide a positive future outlook for the company, if and when market conditions improve. Zaffino reiterates an Outperform rating and $85 price target on the shares.
