Broadcom shares have more room to run, says Barclays
After meeting with management, Barclays analyst Blayne Curtis says Broadcom remains one of his favorite ideas. He sees more room for the stock to run as the "business model continues to prove out." The company is not a cost cutting rollup like some other semi names are pursuing, but a sustainable franchise, Curtis tells investors in a research note. He raised his price target for Broadcom shares to $250 from $240 and keeps an Overweight rating on the name. He believes the company's 2% dividend likely doubles over time.

Broadcom price target raised to $260 from $210 at Craig-Hallum
Craig-Hallum analyst Anthony Stoss raised his price target for Broadcom (AVGO) to $260 from $210 after the company reported "strong results" driven by better than expected Apple's (AAPL) iPhone 7 sales coupled with expected NAND tightness driving growth in its enterprise storage business on the HDD side. The analyst notes that Enterprise business was up 26% quarter over quarter due to content gains/initial builds for Samsung's (SSNLF) Galaxy S8 helping offset the seasonal decline at Apple coupled with strong demand from cloud data center/fiber optics customers driving the wired business. Stoss remains a buyer of Broadcom heading into Apple's next generation phone as he looks for the company to benefit from both content expansion and unit growth. He reiterates a Buy rating on Broadcom's shares.

Silicon Motion may be a potential takeout target by Broadcom, says Craig-Hallum
Craig-Hallum analyst Tony Stoss sees positive read through following Broadcom's (AVGO) report as the company guided for Enterprise demand to remain strong heading into Q2, but should begin to taper off by end of Q2 and into Q3. The analyst thinks Silicon Motion (SIMO) will benefit as SSD demand in the enterprise market continues to ramp. Additionally, he believes Silicon Motion could be a potential takeout target by Broadcom given its "strong position" in the SSD controller market. Stoss reiterated a Buy rating on Silicon Motion's shares.
