Stocks near session lows as Apple, oil slide

Stocks remain in negative territory, as they have been for the entire session. Declining stocks are ahead of advancing stocks by about 2:1 and down volume is even further ahead of up volume. Crude oil is sitting near session lows and struggling to stay above $43 a barrel. Following a downgrade of the stock today and ahead of the company's earnings report tomorrow, Dow member Apple is near its worst levels of the day, down about 1.4% to $97.28.
