Stocks moving back toward session lows

The major averages are back in the red after managing to turn mixed earlier in the afternoon. Most of the losses in the Dow continue to come from shares of McDonald's (MCD), Verizon (VZ) and 3M (MMM). Advancing stocks are ahead of declining stocks by almost 3:2 while up volume is ahead of down volume by a wider margin. Oil prices initially rallied off their lows but have since come under renewed pressure and are now down almost 1% and back under $43 a barrel.
