Averages mixed as tech giants lift Nasdaq, oil majors drag on Dow

09:47

Stock futures were mixed during the pre-market trading session, as the Nasdaq strength continued due to better than expected earnings last night from Google-parent Alphabet (GOOG) and Amazon (AMZN). However, those reports are being offset by this mornings worse than expected results posted by Exxon (XOM) and Chevron (CVX). In early trading, the Dow is down 40 points, the Nasdaq is up 5 points and the S&P is down 2 points.
