Opening this weekend is Lions Gate's (LGF.A, LGF.B) "Patriots Day," starring Mark Wahlberg and based on real-life events surrounding the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings, which is expected to earn about $21M over the four-day weekend. Comcast (CMCSA, CMCSK) subsidiary Universal Pictures' animated family film "Sing," from the studio that made "The Secret Life of Pets" and "Minions," is expected to earn an additional $15M-$16M this weekend, its fourth in theaters. Disney's (DIS) "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," is expected to add an additional $14.5M-$16.5M over the weekend, it's fifth at theaters. Also opening this weekend is Viacom (VIA, VIAB) subsidiary Paramount Pictures' action comedy "Monster Trucks," which had a reported budget of $125M, and is expected to domestically gross $7M-$8M this weekend.
