Box Office Battle: 'Get Out' expected to top 'LEGO Batman,' 'Great Wall'

Opening this weekend, and expected to take the top spot at the box office, is Comcast (CMCSA, CMCSK) subsidiary Universal and Blumhouse Pictures' "Get Out," starring Allison Williams, Catherine Keener, and Bradley Whitford, and directed by Jordan Peele. The horror film is expected to domestically gross $25M-$30M. Time Warner's (TWX) Warner Bros.' "The LEGO Batman Movie," starring the voice of Will Arnett as Batman, is expected to earn $19M-$22M in its third weekend at theaters. Universal's "Fifty Shades Darker," a romance based on the second novel of the best-selling book franchise, is expected to earn $10M-$12M over the weekend. Also from Universal, "The Great Wall," starring Matt Damon and directed by Chinese filmmaker Zhang Yimou, is expected to earn $9M-$12M in its second weekend at theaters. Lionsgate's (LGF.A, LGF.B) "John Wick: Chapter Two," with Keanu Reeves returning as the titular hitman, is expected to earn around $8M this weekend. Publicly traded companies in the space include 21st Century Fox (FOX, FOXA), Disney (DIS), Sony (SNE), and Viacom (VIA, VIAB).
