Market remains at record levels in afternoon trading

Stocks remain sharply higher and near their best levels of the session. The market's move is broad-based, with both the S&P and Dow up about 1.5%. The Fed's Beige Book report said the economy continued to expand at a modest to moderate pace and the labor market remained tight. However, the Beige Book had little effect on trading levels, as the averages continue to be powered by the optimism that has followed last night's speech by President Trump.
