Stock futures were lower through out pre-market trading, leading to a lower open for the broader market. The GOP, after failing to make good on its promise to "repeal and replace" Obamacare, has made a pivot to taxes, though the market may now be more skeptical of the Trump administration's ability to push through on campaign promises. With the Dow Jones Industrial Average down about 0.5% in early trading the blue chip index is on track for an eighth consecutive day of declines. However, the Dow and the over major averages have bounced off their worst levels in early trading, so there's no guarantee that the Dow will actually extend its losing streak. In early trading, the Dow is down 110 points, the Nasdaq is down 39 points and the S&P is down 13 points.
