2017-06-23 12:42:45 | On The Fly: ETF fund flow highlightsFor the past week there was a reversal with redemptions outpacing creations by a factor of 1.8 to 1 among the top-ten funds on each side, per data from ETF.com. On the creations side, developed markets outside the U.S. (EFA, VEA, IEFA), Japan (EWJ), and the Eurozone (EZU) saw the bulk of inflows. The developed market and Japan funds made up more than a third of total flows. The remaining allocations were more scattered, but with the iShares NASDAQ Biotechnology ETF (IBB) seeing solid flows on its breakout in price to the upside this week. On the redemptions side, the S&P 500 funds (IVV, SPY) comprised a third of total outflows. The Vanguard Mid-Cap ETF (VO), Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF (VTI), Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF (VUG), and iShares iBoxx $ High Yield Corporate Bond ETF (HYG) also saw notable redemptions. |
