Averages, internals remain strong in afternoon trading

Stocks remain sharply higher and near their best levels of the session. The Nasdaq has taken the clear lead with gains of about 1.3% versus the Dow and S&P, which are higher by roughly 0.8% and 1%, respectively. The number of advancing stocks is ahead of declining names by almost 4:1 and all ten S&P sectors are currently sporting gains. Oil prices are up about 1% as the commodity tries to keep its winning streak intact.
