Market opens positively after futures improve on heels of CPI report

Stock futures improved during the late morning after the July CPI headline and core price gains both slightly undershot estimates, leading to a positive open for the broader market. Stocks are coming off their worst daily performance since May and the averages are in the midst of their worst weekly performance of the year. Investors remain focused on headlines concerning North Korea as politics fully take center stage with earnings season virtually over. In early trading, the Dow is up 27 points, the Nasdaq is up 17 points and the S&P is up 3 points.
