Futures are pointing to opening gains for the major averages, building upon their record levels after the S&P 500 Index passed the 2,500 milestone to close out last week. It will be a busy week for central bank news, as the Federal Reserve announces a rate decision on Wednesday and the Bank of Japan reports its latest monetary-policy decision on Thursday. Also of note, the UN annual meeting kicks off in New York tomorrow, where President Trump is scheduled to address the group. It is quiet on the domestic economic data front today, with the NAHB housing market index for September the only report of note on the calendar. In early pre-market trading, Dow futures are 57 points above fair value, Nasdaq futures are 14 points above fair value and S&P futures are 4 points above fair value.
