Sony’s (SNE) "Men in Black: International" debuted to a sluggish $28.5M from 4,200 theaters. Overseas, the spinoff collected $73.7M, making its global haul an estimated $102.2M. The movie received just 27% on Rotten Tomatoes, while sporting a B CinemaScore.
BOX OFFICE RUNNERS-UP: Comcast (CMCSA) subsidiary Universal's "The Secret Life of Pets 2" came in second, grossing $23.8M domestically for a $92M cume to date. Behind it was Disney's (DIS) "Aladdin," earning $16.7M at 3,556 locations. Disney subsidiary Fox's "Dark Phoenix" placed number four with just $9M in its second weekend, dropping a massive 73%. Rounding out the top five, Viacom (VIAB) subsidiary Paramount's "Rocketman" posted another $8.8M from 3,021 theaters.
