Following the announcement that Apple (AAPL) is suing Qualcomm (QCOM) over royalties, Credit Suisse analyst Kulbinder Garcha notes that the lawsuit follows a similar anticompetitive charge by the FTC. The lawsuits and charges against Qualcomm have all been centered on its QTL business, Garcha points out, adding that this licensing business currently makes up a" disproportionate amount" of Qualcomm's profit. Additionally, the analyst believes the lawsuit is not "financially meaningful" to Apple, with the company suing Qualcomm for only $1B.
