William Blair analyst Margaret Kaczor said she came away from Abiomed's quarterly report "cautiously optimistic" on the company's opportunity to meet guidance and expectations over the next several quarters, adding that the reiteration of FY20 guidance, albeit at the lower end of the sales range, gives some confidence in the near-term stabilization of the core business. While management gave a number of encouraging updates on their four key initiatives, Kaczor thinks meaningful reacceleration of sales growth is weighted to late fiscal 2020, when the initiatives can contribute more meaningfully. She keeps an Outperform rating on Abiomed shares.
