The release of the long-awaited Managed Medicaid rule is a "significant positive" for behavioral health providers Acadia (ACHC) and Universal Health (UHS), Jefferies analyst Brian Tanquilut tells investors in a research note. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services' rule specifies that Medicaid managed care organizations can now reimburse for mental health services provided to adult beneficiaries in an Institution for Mental Disease, the analyst notes. He believes the ruling significantly expands the addressable market for mental hospitals.
