UBS analyst Daniel Ford upgraded Ameren to Buy and raised his price target for the shares to $63 from $54. The analyst sees the company's earnings growth rate increasing on a better environment for investment in Missouri. A $1B investment in wind and an incremental $1B over five years in grid modernization, spurred by legislation that improves regulation, would increase Missouri rate base growth to 7% from 3%, Ford tells investors in a research note. He sees the valuation expanding along with earnings.
