As previously reported, Morgan Stanley analyst Stephen Byrd upgraded Ameren to Equal Weight from Underweight, stating that legislative and regulatory developments in Missouri have exceeded his expectations in terms of how they benefit Ameren. The company plans to invest a about $1B through 2023 to modernize the grid as a result of new legislation and support of renewables in Missouri has also been stronger than he expected, Byrd tells investors. He raised his price target on Ameren to $61 from $55.
