Loop Capital analyst Laura Champine nudged her price target on American Eagle to $27 from $26 and kept her Buy rating after "better than expected channel checks in apparel for Q2". The analyst anticipates a "more varied silhouette" in denim boosting the brand strength, while the company's Aerie brand takes the spotlight from the fading Victoria Secret's Pink brand. Champine adds that she now sees less need for discounting to achieve her comps target for the year, also raising her gross margin expansion target for FY18 to 60bps.
