Following the announcement that Aetna (AET) and Humana (HUM) have extended their merger agreement end date to December 31 from June 30, Leerink analyst Ana Gupte says she continues to see deal close probability at 80%. Her confidence on the merger remains despite the letter from 7 Democratic Senators urging the Department of Justice to oppose the deal and the push back from the California Department of Insurance Commissioner. Gupte reiterates an Outperform rating on both stocks.
