Citi analyst Todd Bault calls AIG's Q3 "messy" and a weak quarter overall. A split up of the company is unlikely as a number of factors make separating the life and P&C businesses difficult, Bault tells investor in a research note. However, he believes activist involvement could drive change and unlock value, including the sale/spin of UGC and sales of other smaller units. The analyst keeps a Buy rating on AIG with a $71 price target.
