William Blair upgraded Altera to Market Perform after the Wall Street Journal reported Friday that Intel (INTC) is in advanced talks to acquire the company. William Blair believes takeover speculation will trump Altera's "weak" fundamentals. From a strategic point of view, it believes the acquisition of Altera by Intel makes sense.
