RBC Capital analyst Matthew Hedberg initiated Altair with a Sector Perform rating and a price target of $26. Hedberg says the company has the potential to disrupt the computer-aided engineering software and Internet of Things markets, adding that its investment in products and people allow for room to accelerate revenue and expand margins. The analyst cautions however that high exposure to the auto industry and potentially long sales cycles could result in lumpy quarters.
