Don Bilson, who heads Gordon Haskett's event-driven research, noted earlier Alexion Pharmaceuticals "gave Elliott Management the stiff arm in December after Elliott called on the company to put itself up for sale," adding that "if the stock were to trade up, we'd theorize this may be a case of bad news being good news" as he believes investors might see the company's worse than expected 2020 EPS outlook "as an opportunity for a strategic to engage." In morning trading, Alexion shares are down $3.06, or 3%, to $103.84.
