As noted earlier, DA Davidson upgraded Applied Materials to Buy from Neutral. The firm thinks that the company should benefit from several upcoming positive catalysts, including 3D NAND proliferation and the rise of China's domestic semiconductor market. The firm says that these catalysts are "much more important to the company" than volatility in Europe. Target to $28 from $24.
