As previously reported, Susquehanna analyst Christopher Rolland upgraded AMD (AMD) to Neutral from Negative. In a note partially titled "A Lot Can Change in Two Months," Rolland noted that Ethereum prices have doubled in the last month, driving a "modest" reacceleration in GPU purchases, while price hikes have "destroyed [the] value proposition" of a rival Ethereum ASIC. Meanwhile, the Street has "greatly reduced" Q3 expectations to push them well below typical seasonality, he said. Also, Intel (INTC) unexpectedly pushed out its 10nm plan, which Rolland said "may allow AMD to compete at a similar process technology for the first time in decades." The analyst increased his price target on AMD shares to $11 from $8.
