Susquehanna analyst Christopher Rolland released the firm's Q2 "PC-SIGnals" report on semiconductor trends within the PC supply chain, noting that GPU availability has improved dramatically and retail average selling prices were down 18.5% quarter-over-quarter, which he attributes to waning crypto demand for GPUs. Retail prices, while not representative of wholesale GPU ASPs, likely correlate somewhat with end-market demand, Rolland tells investors. He also said that AMD's (AMD) desktop CPU share increased again in Q2, hitting 15.2%, but its laptop CPU share "hit a new low at just 3.2%." The analyst, who called the GPU price info negative for AMD and Nvidia (NVDA), has Neutral ratings on both of those stocks. AMD shares are down 1.5% in late day trading.
