MKM Partners analyst Ruben Roy raised his price target on Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) to $20, citing continued strength of the PC and data center end markets as well as his underestimated "new product momentum". The analyst also sees this week's expected announcement regarding a shift in 7nm production to TSMC (TSM) to benefit its long-term margin structure. Roy keeps his Neutral rating on AMD however, noting that its valuation of 38-times his expected forward earnings already reflects the high expectations.

Barclays raised the firm's price target on TSMC to $150 from $145 and keeps an Overweight rating on the shares. The company beat Q1 expectations and guided Q2 revenue ahead of consensus but revenue growth and capex guidance for 2024 were reiterated, the analyst tells investors in a research note. The firm says TSMC has lowered its industry growth expectations slightly and continues to expect a gradual recovery in most end markets this year.

SK hynix (HXSCL) announced that it has recently signed a memorandum of understanding with TSMC (TSM) for collaboration to produce next-generation HBM and enhance logic and HBM integration through advanced packaging technology. The company plans to proceed with the development of HBM4, or the sixth generation of the HBM family, slated to be mass produced from 2026, through this initiative. SK hynix said the collaboration between the global leader in the AI memory space and TSMC, a top global logic foundry, will lead to more innovations in HBM technology. The collaboration is also expected to enable breakthroughs in memory performance through trilateral collaboration between product design, foundry, and memory provider.

TD Cowen raised the firm's price target on AMD to $200 from $185 and keeps a Buy rating on the shares. The analyst expect data center strength and "well-known softness elsewhere" when AMD reports Q1 results. The firm sees AMD as generating upwards of $10.00 in earnings per share by 2027, or a nearly 40% annual growth off of 2023. TD increased its MI300 2024 revenue estimate to $4.5B from $4B, saying ramps at several customers will continue to happen more quickly than typical. AMD remains one of its top picks.
