DA Davidson analyst Matt Summerville raised his price target on Ametek to $101 and kept his Buy rating after its Q1 earnings beat, saying the company generated "strong incoming orders" in spite of a "tough compare", along with "solid" pricing and a record level of backlog. The analyst also sees Ametek's balance sheet offering much room for capital deployment through accretive M&A and internal growth investments.
