As previously reported, Morgan Stanley analyst Nigel Dally downgraded Ameriprise to Equal Weight from Overweight citing the stock's valuation. While he still sees it as "one of the strongest capital management stories," Dally thinks incremental margin expansion prospects have diminished given lower short-term interest rates, he tells investors. He raised his price target on Ameriprise shares to $175, up from $170.
