As previously reported, Longbow analyst Garik Shmois downgraded American Woodmark to Neutral from Buy, stating that while he was right in his view that the stock would outperform the market given its position as the low-end, entry-level cabinet brand, cost concerns more than offset this. New price increases can have a six-month lag and it will likely take several quarters to offset continued inflation, Shmois tells investors. Additionally, housing end market demand is showing signs of slowing, he noted.
