Piper Jaffray analyst Alexander Potter upgraded Aptiv to Overweight from Neutral with a price target of $114, up from $81. Relative to "plain vanilla" auto suppliers, Aptiv's growth profile has "inarguably sheltered" the company from weakening auto production, Potter tells investors in a research note after traveling with the company's CFO. He believes Aptiv's ability to grow profitably, "even absent a successful moonshot in the autonomous vehicle sector," sets the company apart. He thinks the company "will reward investors who can withstand a little cyclical whiplash."
