Jefferies analyst Laurence Alexander believes the recent drop in energy prices and currency headwinds present near-term issues for Ashland. He cut his 2016 earnings per share estimate for the company to $7.30 from $7.20 to reflect a "tough start to the year." The analyst, however, sees positive near-term trends and expects Ashland's earnings to trough in mid-2016. He keeps a Buy rating on Ashland with a $150 price target.
