SunTrust said it views the 22% year-to-date pullback in athenahealth (ATHN) as a buying opportunity, noting that it thinks the stock is waiting for a large ambulatory deal announcement to move higher. The firm views the Coordinator Enterprise deal the company announced yesterday with UAB as adding an important new customer and indicates that CE is gaining traction in the market, but said that it would likely be hard for Athena to unseat Cerner (CERN), which it believes is UAB’s primary HIT vendor. The firm has a Buy rating on athenahealth shares.
