Piper Jaffray analyst Michael Olson notes August NPD video game software sales fell 15% year-over-year due to a tough compare with a new title release the prior year. . August is the second month of the September quarter for Activision Blizzard (ATVI), Electronic Arts (EA) and Take-Two (TTWO), Olson tells investors in a research note. He believes Activision and Take-Two are tracking ahead of his expectations thus far in the quarter while Electronic Arts' NPD results are down 16% relative to his estimate for a 5% decline, due largely to Madden NFL.
