Baird analyst Colin Sebastian noted that Activision Blizzard announced the addition of three new Overwatch League franchises and said its inaugural season will launch on January 10, 2018, saying the "soft launch" of preseason matches in December is in line with management's original target of the second half of this year. The analyst, who expects the league to generate a modest revenue boost in the first half of FY18 and notes the company's significant expansion plans for the future, keeps an Outperform rating on Activision shares.
