Sandler ONeill analyst Alexander Goldfarb downgraded AvalonBay (AVB) to Hold from Buy, stating that his hopes "were dashed" following its earnings call that the company's total NOI profile would prove more durable. AvalonBay management's comments echoed Equity Residential's (EQR) that 2018 will be another tough year, said Goldfarb, who has a $175 price target on AvalonBay shares.
