Argus analyst Jacom Kilstein lowered his price target on AvalonBay to $190, saying he is increasingly concerned with near-term upscale apartment oversupply in New York and San Francisco markets. Kilstein states that while the market has high barriers to entry, REIT stocks generally lag in a rising interest rate environment. The analyst keeps his Buy rating on AvalonBay, but adds the company is faced with risks of regulation such as rent control laws.
