Research indicates that Broadcom's (AVGO) next generation cloud/datacenter switching chip, Tomahawk 3, is already qualified and the company is receiving "strong" early production orders from customers like Google (GOOG, GOOGL), Amazon (AMZN) and Facebook (FB) for their internally design whitebox switching platforms, JPMorgan analyst Harlan Sur tells investors in a research note. He estimates average selling prices for the Tomahawk 3 chipset at $2,000 and feels gross margins of 80%-plus "should be strong drivers for Broadcom's cloud networking switching franchise." Sur reiterates an Overweight rating on Broadcom with a $337 price target.
