Janney Capital analyst Michael Gaugler upgraded American Water to Buy and maintained its $80 price target. The analyst said the election results may have positive impacts on American Water's market-based businesses, Military Services and Keystone, and said the detailed five year capital expenditure plan will be a key driver of growth in the base utility business. Additionally, Gaugler is comfortable with 2017 guidance and said the only potential headwind to a higher shares price is interest rates.
