Leerink analyst Dan Leonard says the "measured nature" of Agilent's investment in Lasergen supports his view that management is committed to hitting their margin targets. The analyst does not expect the investment to be a near-term driver of Agilent's stock performance. Leonard views the deal as "rational" saying the market opportunity could top $10B over the long term. He keeps an Outperform rating on Agilent.
