Summit Research analyst Henry Guo said Alibaba's (BABA) proposed acquisition of Youku Tudou (YOKU), which he notes has almost 600M monthly users, should significantly help the e-commerce giant further penetrate into China Internet users and strengthen its digital media ecosystem. Meanwhile, Youku Tudou would likely remain aggressive on investments if backed by Alibaba's financial resources, Guo said. The analyst views the potential deal as a negative for other players in the market, including Baidu's (BIDU) iQiyi, Tencent Video (TCEHY) and Sohu Video (SOHU).

Tencent, the globe's biggest video game publisher, now owns over 2M shares in "Alan Wake" and "Max Payne" maker Remedy Entertainment, representing 14.8% of the Finnish company's shares and voting rights, VideoGamesChronicle's Tom Ivan reports. The Chinese gaming giant originally purchased 3.8% of Remedy in May 2021, and had boosted its interest to 5.01% as of November 2022, the author notes. Reference Link
