Piper Jaffray analyst John Daniel downgraded Basic Energy (BAS) to Neutral from Overweight after lowering his estimates on more tempered expectations given U.S. supply growth is outpacing global demand growth. His prior models assumed a $60 WTI environment in 2020, but given recent crude volatility, he now has "a more subdued view" of $50-$55 per barrel, said Daniel, who acknowledge "lowering ratings at this point is admittedly late." He also downgraded FTS International (FTSI) to Neutral, citing similar rationale.
