Stephens analyst Terry McEvoy noted that BB&T shares have outperformed other high-quality super regional banks by more than double year-to-date, but he sees this move as "fundamentally accurate." However, as a softer revenue environment offsets some of BB&T's expense success and with the potential for "some buyers' discount" to creep into the stock 6 as the market speculates on the timing and size of the bank's next deal, McEvoy cut the firm's rating on the stock to Equal Weight.
